Based in Ahmedabad, India, Jay Mistry is a passionate mountaineer, faculty, and storyteller who finds meaning in connecting people with the wild beauty of the outdoors. Known for his calm leadership and creative approach to travel, Jay combines his academic background with his love for adventure to craft journeys that touch hearts and expand horizons.
His tryst with the mountains began as a pursuit of curiosity but soon became a calling. Having completed professional training in rock climbing, mountaineering, and outdoor survival, Jay has led numerous treks and expeditions across India’s most scenic and challenging terrains — from the icy trails of Himachal to the peaceful valleys of the Northeast. Each journey deepened his understanding of not just landscapes, but also human spirit and resilience. As a faculty member, Jay brings education and exploration together. He believes travel is one of the most powerful teachers — capable of instilling confidence, teamwork, and perspective. At Tranquil Journey, he ensures every trip is not just an itinerary but a story — a blend of adventure, local culture, and meaningful connection. His expertise in planning, communication, and storytelling helps travelers see destinations through an emotional and experiential lens.
Jay’s storytelling style has also shaped the creative vision of Tranquil Journey. From scripting cinematic travel films to curating immersive experiences at mystical temples and hidden valleys, his goal is to make every journey a narrative of wonder and self-discovery. For him, adventure isn’t just about reaching a peak — it’s about understanding yourself through the journey. His philosophy perfectly mirrors the soul of Tranquil Journey:
“Every trip is more than travel — it’s a new story waiting to be lived.” Together, Jay and Krimpalsinh lead Tranquil Journey with a shared vision — to redefine how India travels: responsibly, passionately, and with purpose. Their combined expertise in engineering, education, and mountaineering makes them not just directors, but mentors of exploration — guiding people to discover the extraordinary within the ordinary.
